Seth Tressler, a former Bellefonte High School athlete, has been named the PSAC East Athlete of the Week after his performance for the Mansfield baseball team last week.

Tressler hit .571 in 21 at-bats last week for the Mounties, who are on their spring break trip to Florida. He scored seven runs and drove in 15. Three of his 12 hits were doubles and he has had at least three RBIs in each of his last four games.

For the year he’s hitting .500, which is second-highest in the conference. He has scored 12 runs. He is tied for second in RBIs with 18 and is third in slugging percentage, with a .656 mark, and doubles with five.

Mansfield is off to a 5-2 start.

Baseball

Scott Glass (State College, Bucknell) is hitting .269 with three runs scored, seven hits and two RBIs. Bucknell is 4-13.

Matt Fisher (Bellefonte, Mansfield) has a .323 average with eight runs scored, 10 hits, three doubles and seven RBIs.

Justin Taylor (Bald Eagle Area, California, Pa.) is hitting .364 with three runs scored, four hits, two doubles and an RBI. On the mound he’s 3-0 with a 1.00 ERA. In 18 innings, he has given up 13 hits and three runs, two earned, while walking five and striking out 15. Cal is 6-2.

A.J. Robinson (BEA, California, Pa.) leads the team in RBIs with 15. He’s hitting .289 with eight runs scored, 13 hits, four doubles and a triple.

Brandon Myers (Philipsburg-Osceola, Slippery Rock) has a .293 average with six runs scored, 12 hits, a double, a homer and seven RBIs. Slippery Rock is 10-4.

Matt Curtis (P-O, Slippery Rock) has a .233 average with six runs scored and seven hits, all singles.

Luke Curtis (P-O, Pitt) has pitched 5 2/3 innings allowing eight hits, five runs, four of them earned, walked three and struck out four. He’s got a 6.35 ERA. Pitt is 12-6.

Drew Bryan (P-O, VMI) leads the team in hitting with a .365 average. He has scored 11 runs and has 23 hits, five of them doubles and two of them triples, and 13 RBIs. VMI is 7-14.

Austin Mock (State College, Indiana, Pa.) has a .235 average with a run scored, four hits and one RBI. IUP is 6-4.

Clint Hicks (State College, PSU-Harrisburg) is 0-1 with a 7.71 ERA. In 14 innings he has allowed 19 hits and 15 runs, 12 earned, while walking two and striking out six. Harrisburg is 4-6.

Brandon Auman (State College, PSU-Altoona) is 1-0 with a 2.84 ERA. He has worked 6 1/3 innings and allowed eight hits and two runs, both earned, while walking four and striking out six. Altoona is 4-9.

Colin Muthler (State College, PSU-Altoona) is hitting .182 with a pair of hits.

Trey Nicosia (State College, Wagner) is hitting .286 with one run scored and two hits. Wagner is 2-12.

Cody Doran (P-O, Allegany Community College) is hitting .312. He has scored five runs and has 10 hits including two doubles, a triple and six RBIs.

Jasa Mitchell (BEA, Indiana, Pa.) has been on a tear during IUP’s Florida trip. She had six RBIs thanks to a three-run homer and a three-run double in a 14-0 win over Seton Hill on Friday and followed that with a three-run homer on Saturday in a 4-3 win over Charleston and an RBI single against West Virginia State. On Sunday, she had another RBI in a 7-5 win over Lowell. Complete stats are not available. IUP is 4-3.
