VESTAL, N.Y. Penn State used a six-goal run in the second period to score an 11-7 mens lacrosse victory over Binghamton on Tuesday afternoon.
Making the lead stand up at the other end was goalie Austin Kaut, who posted his second straight game with 16 saves.
Nick Dolik keyed the second-period surge with three goals during the frame. Shane Sturgis added two goals and an assist, Tom LaCrosse also had a pair of goals, and one goal each came from Jack Forster, TJ Sanders, Gavin Ahern and Kyle Zittle. Forster and Kyle VanThof each had assists.
Matt Springers two goals and two assists paced the Bearcats (3-4) in the game played in snow and a strong wind. Tucker Nelson, Michael Antinozzi, Brandon Planck, Emmett OHara and Tyler Perrelle each netted one goal.
The Nittany Lions (4-3) will host St. Josephs on Saturday.
