Man waives preliminary hearing in prowling incident outside State College home, police officer assault

From CDT staff reportsMarch 20, 2013

A Williamsburg man charged with attacking a police officer after being caught prowling outside a McKee Street home now faces possible trial on the charges.

Dirk Millmore, 62, waived a preliminary hearing Wednesday in Centre County court on felony aggravated assault charges and several misdemeanor counts, including resisting arrest, open lewdness and loitering and prowling at night.

State College police said they were called to a home on McKee Street on March 12, where a man later identified as Millmore was allegedly peering into the window of a 13-year-old girl and was masturbating outside.

When police approached, Millmore fled then tried to strike an officer in the head with a wooden board.

The Centre County District Attorney’s office said the officer was able to avoid the strike and, with the help of other officers, took Millmore into custody.
