The state Department of Transportation’s Whitehall Road/University Drive Extension widening project will start again on Wednesday.
The three-mile project, which also will add bike lanes, new traffic signals and drainage improvements, extends from South Atherton Street to West College Avenue. Ferguson Township also is working on a separate Whitehall Road widening and improvement project, which extends from West College to Tadpole Road.
The PennDOT project is expected to be complete this fall. Work next week will include excavation for new sections of road near Waupelani Drive and pipe and inlet installation near Blue Course Drive.
Traffic may be controlled by flagging crews between 9 a.m. and 4 p.m.
