Man charged in State College home break-in incident

Edward Parent was charged early Saturday morning after he allegedly tried to break into a residence at 465 E. Foster Ave., State College.

Lt. Mark Argiro said Parent, 23, was charged with criminal trespassing, attempted criminal trespassing, criminal mischief, public drunkenness and disorderly conduct.

A police report said Parent kicked in the side and back doors of the residence and broke a window. Argiro said the residents were awoken at 1:47 a.m. and contacted police when they heard someone trying to enter their home.

Parent was apprehended at the scene.
