Penn State women’s golf: Lions fighting tough wind in South Carolina

— Braving strong winds, the Penn State women’s golf team is tied for 16th midway through the second round of the Briar’s Creek Invitational on Saturday.

Fighting through wind gusts as high as 40 mph, teams completed the first round, but play was suspended with players on the course for Round 2. Nittany Lion golfers were all on the back nine when play was stopped.

Christina Vosters shot an opening-round 79, Elyse Archambault posted an 82 and Ellen Ceresko also carded an 82.

Penn State recorded a 329 opening-round score.
