FAIRFAX, Va. — Behind 17 kills from Aaron Russell and 15 for Nick Goodell, Penn State battled back to beat George Mason in five sets 25-23, 17-25, 19-25, 27-25, 15-10 Saturday night.
Goodell and Nick Turko added five blocks each and Taylor Hammond collected 49 assists and 11 digs as the No. 13 Nittany Lions (17-6, 11-1 EIVA) clinched at least a share of the conference title.
Penn State holds a two-game lead in the loss column over the Patriots and Princeton with two matches left in its EIVA schedule.
The Nittany Lions, who have not played at home wince Feb. 23, finally return to Rec Hall to host Lees-McRae on Friday.
