Penn State lacrosse: Nittany Lion keeper earns honor

A busy week in the net landed some honors for the Penn State men’s lacrosse team’s netminder.

Goalkeeper Austin Kaut was named Colonial Athletic Association Co-Player of the Week on Monday after making a combined 30 saves in a pair of road wins for the No. 12 Nittany Lions.

The junior stopped 14 shots in an 11-3 rout of No. 7 Bucknell last Tuesday, then made 16 saves in a 7-6 victory over Villanova on Saturday. He posted a .769 save percentage and a 4.50 goals-against average in the two games.

He shares the honor with Towson goalie Andrew Wascavage .

The Nittany Lions (7-3, 2-0 CAA), who have won five in a row, host Drexel on Saturday, when the program will celebrate its 100th season at halftime.
