High school tennis: Little Lions fall to Hershey 3-2

From CDT staff reportsApril 3, 2013

— Hershey arrived an hour late, but handed State College its first regular season loss since 2007 with a 3-2 victory on Tuesday.

The Little Lions, who were short-handed because of an injury, got singles victories from Cooper Josephs (6-1, 6-0) and Enrique Del Castillo (6-2, 7-6) won singles matches.

Hershey swept the doubles matches. State College’s Shreyas Radnakrishna and Debastian Forest dropped a tough 4-6, 6-3, 7-6 (5) decision at No. 2 doubles.

“Hershey is a nice team but it would have been nice to play them with our top players in their positions,” State College coach Jane Borden said. “The cold weather, wind and late start were factors, too, and it had an effect on both teams. I’m proud of my freshman and sophomores stepping into thr lineup and playing hard. They did a nice job today, but just came up short.”
