MINNEAPOLIS — Penn State finished second as a team at the end of the first day of competition at the Big Ten Mens Gymnastics Championships on Friday.
The No. 1 Nittany Lions accumulated 434.050 points to trail team champion Michigans 438.900. Host Minnesota was third at 430.350. The individual competition will be held Saturday.
Penn States Felix Aronovich placed fifth in the all-around with an 84.200 total.
Craig Hernandez placed first overall on the pommel horse with a 15.250 total, while Preston Gall and Adrian Evans were fourth and fifth, respectively. Parker Raque was second on the still rings with a 15.300 score, with Alexis Torres and Trevor Howard tying for fifth.
