The skinny: BEA is off to a 1-1 start. ... The Lady Eagles upset top-seeded Ligonier Valley in the District 6 playoffs last season, scoring seven runs in their final at-bat to win 7-6. ... BEA fell 2-0 to Distirct 6 runner-up Central in the semifinals. ... Megan Dudish went 10-3 in her second full season in the circle. ... While the Lady Eagles have several players returning, all but three will be in new positions. ... Dyke gives BEA a strong backup behind Dudish. ... Outfielder Megan Peters swings a clutch bat.

Coach Sidisky says: “Last year, we were very hot and cold hitting. If we could catch on fire in an inning, we could explode for a lot of runs (like Ligonier Valley), but in other games we would be completely out of sync. I am looking forward to a more consistent and dependable hitting lineup that can back our great pitching staff. ... We should have improved range and speed up the middle, but it would be nice to provide our pitchers with two-to-three run cushions early and often.”
