BLOOMINGTON, Ind. — Freshman Macy Jones allowed just five hits as Penn State snapped a seven-game losing streak with a 3-0 victory over Indiana on Saturday.
Jones relieved starter Christy Von Pusch with one out in the first inning and shit out the Hoosiers to give the Nittany Lions (8-22, 1-6) their first Big Ten win of the season.
Penn State broke open a scoreless tie in the sixth. Jones led off with her first career triple and later beat a throw home on Reina Furuyas grounder. Lexi Knief had an RBI single and Alyssa Renwick belted an RBI triple in the outburst.
