From CDT staff reportsApril 9, 2013

— State College used two huge rallies to nab a 13-7 victory over Central Dauphin on Monday.

Hope Guthoff went 4-for-4 at the plate and knocked in four runs. Cory Marfitt went 2-for-4, scored two runs and had a pair of RBIs.

The Lady Little Lions trailed 7-3 in the fifth inning after the Lady Rams exploded for five runs in the fourth. State College (3-2) responded with four runs in the bottom half, then scored six runs in the fifth with two outs.

“Hope Guthoff had a heck of a game,” State College coach Rick Hall said. “Great day at the plate.”

Jess Henderson pitched all seven innings to get the victory.

“I challenged Jess and she did a really good job,” Hall said. “I said ‘Now it’s time to shut the door,’ and she pretty much shut them down after the fifth.”
