High school tennis: Doubles teams deliver for State College

From CDT staff reportsApril 9, 2013

— State College needed its doubles teams to step up, and they did.

State College managed to edge Mechanicsburg 3-2 after the doubles teams of Sam Wherley and Ed Badding, and Shreyas Radhakrishna and Dan Shull, upended their Mechanicsburg counterparts in straight sets.

“It was nice to see the doubles teams step up today and play aggressively,” State College coach Jane Borden said. “(Cooper Josephs) was steady as usual and took care of business at No. 1 (singles) for us today.”

Josephs added the lone singles point for the Little Lions (6-2) when he beat Mechanicsburg’s Josh Ringquist 6-1, 6-0.
