High school girls track and field: Philipsburg-Osceola Lady Mounties salvage split

— Tiffany Berthothy won a pair of events as Philipsburg-Osceola’s girls’ track team split a tri-meet with Hollidaysburg and West Branch on Thursday.

The Lady Mounties defeated West Branch 93-48 and fell 99-51 against Hollidaysburg.

Berthothy captured the discus (80 feet, 8 1/2 inches) and javelin (87-4) as all four of P-O’s individual victories came in field events.

Rachel Wardo took the shot put (29-2) and Taylor Guelich won the long jump (14-5) by an inch. Cheyenne Hutton finished sencond in the 800, 1,600 and 3,200 to pace the Lady Mounties on the track.
