High school boys track and field: Philipsburg-Osceola gains split

— Nick Boumerhi and Logan Day each earned a win in the field as Philipsburg-Osceola split a tri-meet against West Branch and Hollidaysburg on Thursday.

The Mounties edged West Branch 77-65, but fell 114-35 to a dominant Hollidaysburg squad.

Boumerhi’s leap of 18 feet, 6 inches took the long jump, while Day fired the javelin 127-3 for his triumph.

Tim Eason’s second-place finish in the 800 paced P-O’s runners.
