High school baseball: Three homers lead Penns Valley to win

From CDT staff reportsApril 16, 2013

— West Branch put together a five-running fifth inning but it wasn’t enough to overcome a powerful Penns Valley lineup and the Rams romped to an 11-8 win.

Penns Valley (3-1) benefitted from a few long balls in the process.

Wyatt Sharp got things started with a two-run homer in the first and Colton Treaster and Kevin Butts followed with three-run blasts in each of the third and fourth innings. Butts’ homer gave the Rams the lead for good.

Max Bair (2-0) picked up the win for Penns Valley despite walking six and surrendering eight runs on 11 hits. Sharp picked up the save for the Rams who will face Tyrone Tuesday.
