April 18, 2013

— Elliott Searer’s one-out, bases-loaded single brought home the winning run in the bottom of the 12th inning for a 7-6 victory over Bucknell at Medlar Field at Lubrano Park on Wednesday night.

It was Searer’s only hit of the night, bringing home Aaron Novak on the hit to center field.

Luis Montesinos had a 3-for-5 night at the plate with a pair of doubles and two RBIs while James Coates, J.C. Coban and J.J. White each had a pair of hits.

The Nittany Lions forced extra innings with two runs in the bottom of the ninth, with Taylor Skerpon drawing a bases-loaded walk before Tyler Kendall grounded into a double play to tie the contest.

Tim Dunn pitched two scoreless innings, giving up just one hit, to earn the win as the seventh Nittany Lion to take the mound.

Penn State hosts Iowa in a three-game series this weekend.
