SHIPPENSBURG — Tied with Cumberland Valley, State College captured the 4x400 relay to clinch its third girls’ title at the Shippensburg Jack Roddick Invitational in the past four years.
Lauren Bonness, Chandley Book, Victoria Crawford and Kaelyn Yoder ran 4:07.60 to take the 4x400 as Cumberland Valley finished fourth. The Lady Little Lions finished with 68 points, to Cumberland Valley’s 63.
Bonness had a spectacular afternoon. She placed second in the 100 (12.86), fourth in the 200 (26.76) and joined Hayley Crawford, Olivia Watkins and Niara Valentine to win the 4x100 relay (50.03).
In the only time State College has the chance to run the event all season, Robin Derr placed third in the 2,000 steeplechase (8:20.26). Valentine was fourth in the 100 (12.97), while Kimberly Lightner was fourth in the javelin (115-2) and Hayley Crawford took fifth in the 200 (26.79).
Emma Cousins (800, 2:21.76) and Megan Fry (10-0) each had seventh-place finishes. Hannah Grubb (1,600, 5:16.33), Najla Robinson (triple jump, 33-4 1/4) and Victoria Crawford (400, 1:02.12) placed eighth.
Cousins, Victoria Crawford, Grubb and Natasha Fedkina also placed second in the 4x800 relay (9:37.54).
