High school boys track: State College places third at Shippensburg

SHIPPENSBURG State College’s 4x400 relay team placed second to help pace the Little Lions to a third-place finish at the at the Shippensburg Jack Roddick Invitational.

The Little Lions totaled 46 points and trailed Cumberland Valley (59) and Central Dauphin East (55).

Jonathan Smith, Kyle Adams, Mason Post and Will Cather raced to second in the 4x400 with a time of 3:27.27.

Cather (800, 1:55.53) and Post (400, 51.79) led State College individuals with third-place finishes. Adams was fourth in the 800 (1:57.80). Cather was fifth in the 1,600. (4:25.73). Smith (300 hurdles 40.55), Lathom Thompson (pole vault, 13-0) and Bryce Williams (triple jump, 42-7 1/4). Sean King was eighth in the triple jump (42-0 1/4).
