Police: Man charged with two misdemeanors after aggressively trying to get back into State College bar

A 21-year-old man has been charged with criminal trespass and disorderly conduct after an incident outside the Lion’s Den early Sunday morning, State College police said.

Darien Mykel Speaks was asked to leave the bar around 1 a.m. but ran past police, aggressively trying to get back in through both the front door and the back door, police said. He was taken to Centre County Correction Facility after being unable to post $5,000 bail.

He was arraigned on the two misdemeanor charges by Magisterial District Judge Thomas Jordan and his preliminary hearing is set for Wednesday, according to court documents.

He is not listed as a Penn State student in the directory.
