From CDT staff reportsApril 24, 2013

— Chelsea Henry fired a two-hitter, while Megan Bainey and Abby Showers cracked home runs in Philpsburg-Osceola’s 10-0 romp against Tyrone on Tuesday.

The Lady Mounties (7-1) rebounded from a 7-6 loss to Central Mountain, by pounding 12 hits in the contest, which ended after six innings because of the mercy rule.

Henry (2-1) struck out three and did not walk a batter. Out of her 54 pitches, 40 were strikes.

Showers had two hits and drove in five of the Lady Mounties’ runs. Haley Franck and Bainey also had two hits. Mackenzie Burge scored three runs.

The Lady Mounties play at Central on Thursday in a rematch of last year’s District 6 Class AA title game.
