Boys’ volleyball: State College goes .500 in home invite

— The State College Little Lions played .500 volleyball in their home invitational on Saturday.

State College went 6-6 in pool play while North Allegheny defeated Pennsbury 25-21, 25-21 to win the State College Invitational championship.

State College earned a sweep of Cambridge Springs, 21-19, 21-11 and also won games against Central York and Northeastern. The Little Lions suffered losses to North Allegheny, Hempfield and Meadville.

Eric Deshong led State College with 35 kills while Deniz Demurci added four aces. Noah Hanahan handled defensive efforts with 66 digs while Andrew Grove handed out 94 assists.
