Penn State baseball: Buckeyes sweep Nittany Lions

— Ohio State swept a doubleheader from Penn State on Satutrday, also sweep the three-game weekend series, with 10-8 and 8-3 victories.

The Nittany Lions (11-28, 2-13) rallied from 10-0 down in the opener but fell short.

Zach Ell belted a two-run home run, Elliott Searer had a two-run single and Ryky Smith cleared the bases with a double to highlight the offense in the opener.

Ryan Harper was tagged for eight hits and six runs — only three were earned — in three innings for the loss. The Buckeyes totaled 13 hits in the win.

In the second game, the Nittany Lions outhit the Buckeyes 12-8, but committed three errors and Penn State pitchers surrendered six walks and hit three more batters.

Steve Snyder was 3-for-5 and Alex Farkes hit a solo homer to highlight the day for Penn State.

Greg Walsh took the loss.
