Conklin: No other Governor in Modern History has shown such a disdain for working people

To suggest that people struggling to find work cannot secure it because they can’t pass a drug test is outrageous.

The governor’s statement comes as no surprise to many of us. It is very apparent that he has not softened his position from 2010 when he claimed that those who are struggling to find a job “are just going to sit there” and wait until their unemployment runs out. The problem is who the governor is listening to. If he would spend even one day with those who are looking for work, or who are under employed, I believe he would hear a different story. This latest statement to Radio PA cannot be dismissed as a faux paus. Given his statements from 2010, it is a pattern of disregard by this governor for the unemployed. No other governor in modern history has shown such a disdain for working people.
