High school baseball: Bald Eagle Area soars to 10th victory

— Bald Eagle Area scored five runs in the top of the fifth inning to secure a 9-4 high school baseball win over Huntingdon on Thursday.

Jeff Bennett earned his first win of the season on the hill for the Eagles, pitching a complete game and scattering eight hits and walking six batters.

“I’m proud of how our kids adapted and were able to come through,” said coach Jim Gardner. “Jeff Bennett got his first start and was able to keep the damage to a minimum”

Bryan Greene went 2-for-3 with three runs and two RBIs for the winners while Bryce Greene also went 2-for-3 at the plate, also chipping in two runs of his own.

Tyler Schall had the lone extra base hit for the Eagles on the night, with a double.

BEA (10-3) will host Penns Valley today at 4:30 p.m.
