Police: Man arrested after causing disturbance at Beer Belly’s

May 5, 2013

A Penn State student was charged with criminal trespass, resisting arrest and disorderly conduct after a disturbance at Beer Belly’s, State College police said.

Marcus Shivers, 21, was arrested and charged with the second-degree misdemeanor and two summary counts after the incident Friday at 7:34 p.m. at the West Hamilton Avenue beer distributor, police said.

Police said he caused a problem inside the store and refused to leave when asked. When police were called he struggled with officers outside the store, police said.

He was arraigned by District Judge Allen Sinclair and remains in Centre County Correctional Facility after being unable to post $2,500 bail, according to court documents.

His preliminary hearing is set for Wednesday.
