Penn State softball: Nittany Lions drop finale 2-0

— Penn State’s rough regular season came to a end as Nebraska’s Tatum Edwards fired a one-hitter in a 2-0 victory at Nittany Lion Softball Park.

Cassidy Bell’s sixth-inning single was the lone hit surrendered by Edwards (25-8), who walked two and struck out six. Penn State’s Macy Jones (12-17) tossed a two-hitter with two walks and a strikeout.

Taylor Edwards hit a solo homer for the Cornhuskers (39-12 overall, 16-6 Big Ten).

No. 11 Penn State (15-33, 5-17) will face No. 6 Illinois in the first round of the Big Ten Tournament on Thursday in Lincoln, Neb. The Nittany Lions and Illinois (22-26, 11-12) did not play during the regular season.
