High school volleyball: State College sweeps Carlisle

— Ibrahim Almoaiqel, Eric Deshong and Deniz Demirci combined for 32 kills as State College rolled over Carlisle 25-21, 25-14, 25-16 on Tuesday.

“We needed it,” said Little Lion coach Kim-Li Kimel, whose team improved to 6-6 on the season. “We’ve had a rough road. We’ve had some really tight matches and it was nice to get one in three straight.”

Almoaiqel led the Little Lions with 12 kills, while Deshong and Demirci added 10 each.

Andrew Groves dished out 31 assists, while Noah Hanahan had 17 digs and Deshong had five aces.

The Little Lion next play host to state power Chambersburg on Senior Night at 7 p.m. Thursday.
