High school softball: Huntingdon stuns Bald Eagle Area

— Bald Eagle Area rallied with two runs in the top of the seventh inning to tie the game, but the last of the Lady Eagles’ five errors brought home the winning run in the bottom of the frame in a 6-5 loss to Huntingdon on Tuesday.

Megan Peters started the rally for BEA (11-7) with a single, moved up on a wild pitch and scored on an Alli Simpson single. Simpson advanced on a wild pitch and scored on Logan Fischer’s bloop single.

In the bottom of the seventh, Kyra Shay doubled, moved to third on a groundout and scored when Cheyenne Snyder’s two-out fly ball was dropped.

Simpson finished 3-for-4, knocking in a run with a double during BEA’s three-run second inning. Makennah Dyke took the loss in relief while Morgan Glover pitched a complete-game win.
