Bellefonte police make drug bust in municipal parking lot

Bellefonte police said three people were taken into custody and more than 50 bags of heroin were discovered in a drug bust in a municipal parking lot.

Police said they encountered three people engaged in illegal drug activity in the parking lot Saturday. Police said they obtained a search warrant of two vehicles and discovered 50 bags of heroin, several packets of suspected bath salts and an undisclosed amount of cash.

Police said Wednesday that three people were placed in the Centre County Correctional Facility and that charges are pending.

Additional information was not released Wednesday. Police said an investigation is ongoing.
