High school baseball: Philipsburg-Osceola holds down Altoona

— Caleb Pepperday threw a complete-game one-hitter on Thursday to lead Philipsburg-Osceola to a 4-1 baseball victory over Altoona.

The junior allowed one run, walked two and struck out eight for the win.

Taylor Golemboski went 1-for-3 from the plate and knocked in two runs for the Mounties (4-12), who host Clearfield on Friday.

Matt Carpin and Tanner Lamb each went 2-for-4.
