Police: Tyrone men flee traffic stop, face charges

Two Tyrone men were arrested after fleeing police in Huston Township, according to state police in Philipsburg.

Police said Joseph Douglas Walker, 33, and Ronald Leroy Eakin, 33, were driving north on South Eagle Valley Road at 1:13 a.m. Sunday when they pulled into a church parking lot and ran from a 1995 Ford Ranger driven by Walker. Police said the men ran into a swamp and were both arrested by police soon after.

Police said Walker did not have a driver’s license or permission to drive the truck. Walker also was found to have drug paraphernalia. He was placed in Centre County Jail on a probation violation detainer and will face charges of unauthorized use of a motor vehicle, resisting arrest, disorderly conduct, possession of drug paraphernalia and multiple summary charges, according to police documents.

Eakin will face charges of resisting arrest and disorderly conduct, according to police.
