High school softball: Philipsburg-Osceola blanks Punxsutawney

— Kate Burge warmed up for the District 6 Class AA playoffs by firing a one-hitter as Philipsburg-Osceola whipped Punxsutawney 6-0 on Tuesday.

Burge walked one and struck out nine in the dominating performance for the top-seeded Lady Mounties (17-1), who host Bishop McCort in the opening round of the district playoffs on Thursday.

Carly Gonder had two hits and drove in two to lead the P-O offense. Aisha Goss had two hits and scored twice, while Chelsea Brown drove in a pair.
