From CDT staff reportsMay 16, 2013

— The Bald Eagle Area offense exploded on Wednesday to help the Eagles earn a share of the Mountain League title with a 15-8 win over Huntingdon in the regular-season finale.

Bryce Greene went 3-for-4 and scored two runs to lead the Eagles (15-5). Dylan Womer hit a two-run home run in BEA’s five-run third inning. Cole Long went 2-for-4 at and scored four runs.

Nate Cleaver went the distance for BEA (15-5) to earn the victory. Cleaver (6-1) gave up eight runs on 13 hits, three walks and nine strikeouts.

“I believe the key was the offense not going away,” said BEA head coach Jim Gardner. “We continued to put runs on the board.”

BEA, who earned a first-round bye in the District 6 Class AA Playoffs, will face the winner of Thursday’s game between Mount Union and Penns Valley.

Wednesday’s victory came a day after BEA lost 5-1 at Williamsport. Logan Reese hit a solo home run for the Eagles’ only run.
