Penn State athletics: Four Nittany Lions earn academic all-district honors

From CDT staff reportsMay 21, 2013

— Four Penn State student-athletes have earned first-team Capital One Academic All-District At-Large selections from College Sports Information Directors of America.

Picking up the honors were Matt Brown of the wrestling team, Kelsey Amy in field hockey, Tatum Coffey in lacrosse and swimmer Gabi Shishkoff.

First-team Academic All-District honorees advance to the Capital One Academic All-America Team ballot, where first-, second- and third-team Academic All-America honorees will be selected later in May. Amy was a first-team national selection last year.

The four, first-team selections are tied for the most in school history, matching 2006-07. The four total selections for Penn State were tied for third nationally behind Navy’s six total selections and Alabama’s five total representatives.
