Man arrested in connection with robbery at State College park

State College police arrested a man in connection with a knifepoint robbery Saturday afternoon on the basketball courts in Orchard Park.

Police said the suspect was wielding a 10-12-inch knife and approached another man, forcing him to give up personal property. The incident occurred at about 5:50 p.m. at the park, 1020 Bayberry Drive, police said.

The man was taken into custody early Sunday evening, police said.

Charges are pending, and police will not release the suspect’s name until he has been arraigned.
