American Legion baseball: State College slips to .500

From CDT staff reportsJune 21, 2013

— The State College American Legion team got off to a hot start, plating six runs in the bottom of the first inning on Thursday.

It wasn’t nearly enough.

State College (6-6) would score just one more the rest of the way and fell to Beech Creek 12-7.

Beech Creek put together a five-run fifth that was the dagger inning for State College. Ken Craig led State College at the plate going 3-for-4 with a double. Tanner Witter and Sam Plafcan added doubles and Ben Ripka hit a triple for State College.
