From CDT staff reportsJune 23, 2013

— The Bellefonte American Legion team earned its only win in the Pennsylvania Wood Bat Open on Saturday but finished 1-3 overall in the tournament.

Bellefonte used an offensive explosion to hammer Quakertown 16-4 in the first game of the day. Taylor Smith helped plenty. Smith’s grand slam, coupled with a single, provided six RBIs for Bellefonte. Noah Perryman added a single and a double and three more RBIs and Bellefonte plated 14 runs combined in the second and third innings.

In the second game, Bellefonte bats went cold. Bellefonte finished with just three hits against Corning (NY) and fell 13-0 in six innings.
