Centre County Baseball League: Howard Hawks overcome Pleasant Gap Peppers in seventh

From CDT staff reportsJune 24, 2013

— The Howard Hawks battled their way back to .500 with a 6-5 Centre County Baseball League win over Pleasant Gap on Sunday.

The Peppers (3-14) took a 4-1 lead in the third inning before Howard (8-8) responded with a four-run fifth to retake the lead. A Pleasant Gap tally in the top of the sixth knotted the score at 5-5.

But the Peppers couldn’t keep the Howard offense in check in the final frame.

Kyle Womer led off the bottom of the seventh with a single then stole second before Travis Price walked. Tyler Womer sacrificed Womer and Price into scoring position before Bones Fisher walked. Ryan Dyke drew another walk and Kyle Womer crossed the plate for the winning run.
