Centre County Baseball League: Lemont Ducks’ bats get hot against Howard Hawks

From CDT staff reportsJune 25, 2013

— The Lemont Ducks continued their winning ways while the Howard Hawks’ up-and-down season continued on Monday.

Lemont (12-3) overcame an early deficit and worked a consistent offense to pound Howard 12-5.

The Hawks (8-9) struggled on the mound as starter Mike Surovec lasted just over an inning and allowed all three batters he faced in the second to reach base. He was replaced by Dan Cole who picked up the loss when Lemont plated four runners in the frame.

The Ducks were led by Trey Nicosia, Erik Kempton, Kieran Kempton, Matt Smith and Scott Glass, all of which had extra base hits.

Kyle and Tyler Womer each belted two singles each along with Bones Fisher for the Hawks.
