Penn State football: Nittany Lions land DB Troy Vincent Jr., son of former NFL star

An impressive recruiting push continued Wednesday for Penn State as another vaunted recruit declared his intentions to play for the Nittany Lions beginning in 2014.

Troy Vincent Jr., a defensive back from The Gilman School (Baltimore), verbally committed to Penn State on Wednesday. Vincent’s commitment was first reported by Blue White Illustrated.

Vincent’s commitment — which is non-binding until he signs a letter of intent — is the 12th in the current recruiting class and fifth from a four-star prospect. Vincent Jr., the son of five-time NFL Pro Bowler Troy Vincent, is rated a four-star prospect by and a three-star recruit by 24/7 Sports.

He is the fourth defensive back to commit in the current recruiting class. The 5-foot-10, 192-pound Vincent Jr. had offers from Arizona State, California, Illinois and Indiana according to 24/7 Sports.
