County to spray for ‘nuisance mosquitoes’ Monday in Rush Township

From CDT staff reportsJune 29, 2013

The Centre County West Nile virus program will spray for mosquitoes Monday in portions of Rush Township.

The county Planning and Community Development Office said the effort is in response to “elevated numbers of nuisance mosquitoes.” Adjacent areas in Decatur Township, Clearfield County, also will be treated, the office said in a news release.

No incidents of West Nile virus have been found in either county yet this year, the office said.

Spraying is scheduled to occur between 8:30 and 10 p.m., with rain dates of Tuesday or Wednesday. The spraying will be done with truck-mounted equipment.

Questions may be directed to the planning office at 355-6791.
