Centre County Baseball League: Spring Mills tops Howard

— Brady Waltz tossed a five-hitter and Spring Mills broke open a tight game late to top Howard 9-1 on Sunday.

Waltz struck out six and walked two in the contest.

Leading 2-0 through five innings, the Braves scored three times in the sixth and four more in the seventh. Kevin Conklin’s solo homer highlighted the outburst in the sixth and George Conklin spanked a two-run double in the seventh. Kevin Conklin had three hits and Cody Young added two for the Braves (8-10).

Evan Gettig had two singles for the Hawks (8-11).
