Work on Forest Avenue bridge in Walker, Marion townships postponed

July 1, 2013

The project to replace the Nittany Creek Bridge on Forest Avenue on the border of Walker and Marion townships has been postponed, the state Department of Transportation said Monday.

The work was to begin July 8 but has been delayed until later this year.

The bridge, built in 1939, is about 1.5 miles north of the Zion/state Route 550 intersection. With the work on hold, the road will remain open and no detour will be needed.
