Centre County Baseball League: Blanchard sinks Howard, 9-4

— Blanchard took advantage of several sixth-inning walks and beat Howard 9-4 on Wednesday.

Howard (8-12) led 4-2 aftrer five innings before the Bees took a patient approach against Hawks pitcher Dylan Womer. Blanchard hitters drew three straight walks to load the bases and Larry Bechdel drove in two runs with a single. Kyle Miller followed another walk with a two-run single to give Blanchard the lead for good.

The Bees added three insurance runs in the top of the seventh.

Tyler Womer, Bones Fisher and Rusty Gates each hit two singles for Howard while Clay Smith homered for the Hawks. Mike Vonada added a home run for Blanchard.
