American Legion baseball: Philipsburg tops Bellefonte

— Philipsburg overcame an early three-run deficit to top Bellefonte 8-3 on Wednesday.

Althought the game was played at Bellefonte, the Bandits (4-20 overall) were the visitors. Bellefonte got on the board in the top of the second. With the bases loaded, Seth Weaver emptied them with a three-run double to give the Bandits a 3-0 lead.

Philipsburg (6-5 in league play) bounced back in the fourth. Chad Speigle had an RBI single in the inning. Jake Belinda drew a bases-loaded walk and Parker Watson added an RBI groundout in the frame.

Watson added an RBI double in a three-run sixth. Kyle Johns entered the contest in the fourth and pitched three scoreless innings of relief to earn the win. Johns allowed one hit and struck out four.
