Centre County League baseball: Pleasant Gap edges Lewistown

Pleasant Gap put together five runs in the third and fourth innings on Tuesday to down Lewistown 5-4 in Centre County League baseball action.

The Peppers (6-15) grabbed a 3-1 lead in the bottom of the third on four straight hits, as Devin Alterio, Dan Roan and Trey Burger all delivered RBIs. Lewistown (12-8) tied the game at 3-3 in fourth with a Shawn Heckert sacrifice fly and an RBI single from Ryan Keefer.

Pleasant Gap responded with two runs in the home half of the fourth on RBIs from Alterio and Greg Reeder.

Cole McClarren picked up the pitching win for the Peppers, as Devin and Steven Alterio each had three singles, Colin Burke had two singles and a double, and Reeder singled and doubled. Keefer and Morgan Barger each had three hits for Lewistown.
