From CDT staff reportsJuly 17, 2013

— A man and woman both face charges of simple assault and domestic violence after an altercation late Monday at a residence on Beaver Road.

State police at Philipsburg did not identify the 47-year-old woman and 55-year-old man whose “verbal argument escalated to a physical altercation.”

Police said the woman pulled the man’s hair and spit on him several times. She pulled him to the floor and “drug his head across carpet as the male struck her in the face several times.”

The woman suffered a bruised eye and abrasions to her arms and knees. The man suffered a large abrasion on his forehead and had hair pulled out of his scalp, police reported.

Both were taken to Centre County Correctional Facility awaiting arraignment.
