Centre County Baseball League playoffs: Howards beats Lewistown 11-1

From CDT staff reportsJuly 17, 2013

— Tyler Womer pitched the Howard Hawks to a win and a 2-0 lead in their first-round series against the Lewistown Predators.

Womer went the distance, scattered three hits and chipped in six strikeouts to keep the Lewistown lineup out of sync in Game 2.

Lewistown, the No. 2 seed, faces elimination when the series shifts back to its home field on Thursday.

Womer was aided by an offensive second inning from his lineup. Dan Cole started the scoring with a two-RBI single and Ryan Dyke followed with another two-RBI single. Scott Zuback’s two-run home run gave seventh-seeded Howard a 6-1 lead, and the Hawks added three more runs in the nine-run second.
